NAF: the search for a natural remedy

Non-allergic footwear (NAF) is a research project financed by the European Union, as a result of the collaboration between the University of Florence (Operative Unit for Allergological Dermatology) and industry, in order to manufacture footwear specifically for those affected by ACD from shoes.
After some three years of experimentation a new technology was developed, totally innovative for the treatment of leather and the manufacture of shoes. The principle characteristic of this process is that of not using any chemical components that have been identified as being responsible for ACD.
